Personal data we collect and why?

It is possible that an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) is submitted to the Gravatar service to verify that you are using it. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service is available here: After your comment has been approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.

If you add an image to a website, you should avoid uploading images that have embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Website visitors can download them and extract any location data from website images.

Articles on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. video, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves identically as if the visitor had visited that other website.

These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, have additional third-party tracking embedded, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to the website.

How long do we keep your data?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. We do this so that we can acknowledge and approve any subsequent comments automatically instead of holding them in the moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have regarding your data?

If you have an account on this website, or have posted comments, you can request to receive an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of any personal data we have about you. This does not include any data we are required to hold for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where do we send your information?

Visitor comments can be reviewed by an automated spam detection service.
